Web performance company CloudFlare announced this week that it has completed a plugin making it simple for service providers operating at the Parallels platform to simply deploy and resell CloudFlare’s website-speeding CDN services.

In partnership with Parallels, CloudFlare developed the plugin using the Parallels-created Application Packaging Standard, an open standard for packaging applications that the majority notably currently means they’re easily deployed at the Parallels platform. Parallels has seen significant growth during the last year inside the development of applications using the APS model.

According to the CloudFlare announcement, hosting providers using Parallels’ Plesk Panel or Parallels Automation hosting software will now have the capacity to use CloudFlare’s free tools to optimize the performance in their customers’ websites and customarily reduce the weight on their systems. They’ll even be ready to resell the premium version of the CloudFlare CDN service, making a new revenue stream.

Similar to a CDN service, but incorporating unique engineering around data transfer, CloudFlare optimizes the performance of individual websites, improving load times by up to 60 percent, says the corporate. Delivering its service through hosting provider partners is a huge area of focus for CloudFlare, which launched its “optimized hosting provider” partnership program in the summertime at HostingCon.

In November, the WHIR ran a video interview with CloudFlare CEO Matthew Prince, who described the company’s CDN service, its Railgun technology for optimizing data delivery, and the performance and revenue opportunities they represent for the company’s hosting partners.

“We’re thrilled to work with Parallels and convey website performance and security to their global customer base who serve greater than 10 million SMBs in 130 countries,” says Prince, quoted inside the press release. “This integration enables SMBs to make more cash and decrease operating costs.”

Full details of the opportunities presented during the Parallels partnership can be found via the CloudFlare website. In accordance with the corporate, hosts who register as Parallels partners or storefront partners, or who join the currently-in-pilot Parallels associates program can be in a position to resell CloudFlare.
