451 Research has named Dr. Katy Ring as head of the organization’s global IT services research and advisory team

Industry research analyst firm 451 Research announced on Tuesday it has named Dr. Katy Ring as head of the organization’s global IT services research and advisory team, that’s portion of its CloudScape Practice.

The move comes a number of weeks after 451 Research published a brand new report titled “Highly Energy-Efficient Datacenters in Practice”, which checked out how data centers are taking advantage of new innovations in design, energy management, cooling, and new deployment approaches to spice up their energy efficiency.

With greater than 25 years of expertise within the IT industry, Dr. King was a giant asset within the industry in providing strategic advice to C-level executives in vendor and end-user organizations.

Throughout her career, she has cultivated effective research-based expertise with a selected focus in areas where the worldwide IT service delivery model is changing, including cloud services, the evolving CIO role, innovation, sustainability, and global sourcing of labour.

Dr. Ring most recently served because the head of K2 Advisory, a research resource for CIOs, their senior colleagues, and suppliers.

Prior to serving at K2 Advisory, Dr. King served for 12 years as principal analyst and practice leader at emerging software and services markets research firm Ovum Research. During this role, she  developed the company’s Outsourcing Practice.

Before her tenure at Ovum, Dr. Ring led a successful career working as a journalist, where she her by-line regularly appeared in publications like Computer Weekly and Computergram, in addition being the founding editor of Software Futures.
