Posted on August 23, 2017 at 4:24 pm

If you want your business website to appear more professional, you may want to think about adding some professional head shots. By adding these images to your site, you automatically put faces to a brand, letting the customers know the friendly team they will be dealing with. It is important that you don’t try and do the head shots yourself, hiring a professional will make a big difference. Simply search for a portrait photographer and they will be able to come to your office or workplace, take pictures of the entire team and have them sent over to your marketing/ website manager.

A professional photographer will be able to produce head shots that are all consistent with one another, keeping your website pleasant to see. Depending on the background you desire, a photographer should be able to set up a backdrop within your workplace, alternatively each staff member could pay a visit to their photo studio.

Make sure that you’ve lots of content throughout your site together with your target keywords within the articles. It’s typically a great idea to have between three hundred and five hundred words per page, but much more important than a quantity of content is the high quality of the content that you’re providing.

Search terms should be written out in the text, instead of graphics. Should you use pictures, be positive to give them alt tags. The alt tags inside your pictures are almost as essential as text. It’s also a great thought to put some of your key words in links to other pages. Inside the eyes of a search engine, it is nearly as excellent to have a link to a page full of the content that the visitor is searching for as it is to have the content that the visitor is searching for on your page.

The title of your pages is extremely crucial and making certain that you select it wisely will make a big distinction. Ensure that you do not have a lot of irrelevant links on your website. The more closely related to your web site your links are, the far better your chances of being ranked in a higher position.

Different emails for different purposes

Posted on October 23, 2016 at 12:07 pm

Having one single email address is fine if you have a basic blog or brochure website, but if you’re running an ecommerce website then you may need to have a few for different purposes. You might want an email for general questions and another for FAQs, possibly one more for sales orders, another for technical help and perhaps a dedicated address for accounts information. Having separate emails for different purposes doesn’t just make your business look more professional from the outside looking in, it keeps your mail organised and it means as your business grows, certain individuals will be responsible for those email addresses. Emails are such a simple add on in many hosting plans but they shouldn’t go unnoticed. Make sure you decide on yours from the offset, you can then keep things nice and organised going forward.

Posted on February 25, 2015 at 2:47 pm

Site building tools are an immensely useful tool for inexperienced web developers, in that they allow even laymen to build a website from scratch. With them, you can quickly install and, to a limited extent, customise a variety of web applications and CMS (content management systems).

Most hosting companies offer softaculous, which is the largest and most distributed site building tool around. This tool is available in most cpanels for webmasters to use and is very simple to use:

When in the cpanel page for your website, typically reached by typing in the domain name followed by “/cpanel”, go to the softaculous icon and you’ll be taken through to a page where you can decide upon a variety of content management systems, from wordpress (like this website), to joomla, drupal and more which focus upon ecommerce websites like Majento. From there you just need to configure a few basic fields to match what you want and decide upon a style you are satisfied with.
