Posted on October 10, 2017 at 7:24 am

A great way of keeping the content of your website fresh is to write a regular blog, but how often should you post a new blog post?

There isn’t a rule regarding the frequency of posting on your websites blog, however it is important that when you do post, it contains relevant content. Posting 10 posts a month of poor quality will not do your website any favours and may even affect you positioning on search engines.

Blog posts can include images, videos and relevant information that engages with the reader, and it should always be on topic with your branding of your website. You can add relevant links in your post to other companies and you may receive links back, which helps with your websites trust flow and overall SEO. You can write the blog posts yourself, or hire a content writer to help produce good quality copy that can be posted onto your website.

What to do when your website crashes?

Posted on September 29, 2017 at 10:32 am

Websites can crash for a number of reasons, one of which is having too many users on the site for the hosting allowance required, whilst another possible reason is someone has hacked your website causing it to fail on purpose. It’s sad to say that this does happen a lot, but if this ever happens to you there are a few things you can do. First, you need to contact your hosting company and see if they can get a backup in place immediately, perhaps removing the problem. If a backup doesn’t do it, they may have a team or a support company who can help them. They need to do as much as possible to help you out if you’re paying for a big hosting package, after all that’s exactly what you’re paying for! The secret to solving this problem often lies with the hosting company, and no good hosting company will host a website without experience in dealing with emergencies.

Professional head shots for your website

Posted on August 23, 2017 at 4:24 pm

If you want your business website to appear more professional, you may want to think about adding some professional head shots. By adding these images to your site, you automatically put faces to a brand, letting the customers know the friendly team they will be dealing with. It is important that you don’t try and do the head shots yourself, hiring a professional will make a big difference. Simply search for a portrait photographer and they will be able to come to your office or workplace, take pictures of the entire team and have them sent over to your marketing/ website manager.

A professional photographer will be able to produce head shots that are all consistent with one another, keeping your website pleasant to see. Depending on the background you desire, a photographer should be able to set up a backdrop within your workplace, alternatively each staff member could pay a visit to their photo studio.

By designing a responsive website which can automatically adjust to any screen of the smartphone, tablet or even desktop will have a lot more people access their website.

It is cost effective to design one website which is responsive than designing and developing two websites: one for desktop and the other for smartphones. You will only be required to maintain one website.

Security for your wordpress website

Posted on June 24, 2017 at 9:02 am

Websites require a high level of protection due to the increase in internet hackers. It is important that you take extra security precautions when it comes to your website.

Firstly, you should have a secure login and password system. Passwords should consist of a mixture of letters, numbers and symbols, including capitals and lower cases. Passwords should be of good length, with passwords over 10 characters providing better security.  Change your password frequently and do not give this information out to anyone who is not part of the sites admin team.

Other ways to protect your website is by installing wordpress security plugins, this can help detect hackers and block them from entering into the administration section of your site.

Having a reliable host will help improve the security of your site, and always make sure they have an automatic backup system in place as this will make sure your site content isn’t completely lost if it is hacked.

Tips for getting your website to rank better on search engines

Posted on March 25, 2017 at 11:13 am

Search engine rankings are a crucial factor to contemplate when you have a website that requires better traffic. If your website doesn’t hold a strong position within the search engines, your business may struggle with custom.  A great way to make your website rank higher on search engines is by getting good quality links, this in turn will automatically bring more traffic to your website as you will begin to be positioned on the first few pages of search engines. The more relevant trusted links you have to your site will bring more traffic to you, this is because search engines will begin to recognise your site as a trusted reliable website.

Even though no SEO business can guarantee a high ranking for your web site, following some simple steps may help your chances. Content is a crucial factor in high search engine rankings. Make sure that you’ve lots of content throughout your site together with your target keywords within the articles. It’s typically a great idea to have between three hundred and five hundred words per page, but much more important than a quantity of content is the high quality of the content that you’re providing.

Search terms should be written out in the text, instead of graphics. Should you use pictures, be positive to give them alt tags. The alt tags inside your pictures are almost as essential as text. It’s also a great thought to put some of your key words in links to other pages. Inside the eyes of a search engine, it is nearly as excellent to have a link to a page full of the content that the visitor is searching for as it is to have the content that the visitor is searching for on your page.

The title of your pages is extremely crucial and making certain that you select it wisely will make a big distinction. Ensure that you do not have a lot of irrelevant links on your website. The more closely related to your web site your links are, the far better your chances of being ranked in a higher position.

Why choosing a reliable web hosting company is important

Posted on February 23, 2017 at 1:45 am

Most business owners may question why selecting a reliable web hosting company is important as they ‘all do the same job’. This is true to some extent, they can all host your website, but some will have more perks than others.

Avoid revenue loss

If you hire any company due to the small amount of fee you are required to pay, there is a possibility of your site being more offline than it should be. Due to this, your potential customers may not have access to your products when they need them most leading to them opting for another company.

Evade lower Search Engine ranking

If your site repeatedly goes down when potential clients are searching for services similar to those you provide, the chances are that your ranking will be negatively affected.

Provide security in case of attacks

Reliable web hosting companies will back up your data to a remote server due to online threats such as hacking, botnets, denial of service, or malware attacks that may affect the access to your site’s information online. With the availing of reliable company services, the website owner is therefore saved from the hassle that might result from such unpredictable attacks.

Creating the perfect business logo

Posted on January 18, 2017 at 3:25 pm

Whether it’s for brand or personal business, Logo becomes identity. A Logo is much more a captivating picture for consumers as they cast first glance at your product or service. It’s a mirror of customer requirements for that company. A Business Logo paints the visual impact in customer’s mind. It should capture minute details to create a broad picture and have an everlasting impact on consumers. This is possible only if the logo is unique, creative and offers clarity.

Decide a purpose for which you are creating logo. This will enable you to stick to relevant details, and avoid unnecessary and trivial details about the logo.

Look for the logos of the successful companies. It will give you an idea of other competitors in market, and enable you to be more innovative and creative in design of your logo. Your Business logo should be catchy to your target customers. It should serve as a bridge between your company and customers.

People should be captivated by your logo uniqueness. It should be enticing. Common and obvious choices should be avoided. It should be distinct so that it catches the eye in the swarm of logos. Trends are constantly evolving, with new subsequent trends replacing earlier ones. Don’t be a copycat. Be a trendsetter. Your logo should be timeless, if you want to be remembered in the long run.

Every colour has a psychological effect. For example; Red signifies aggression, energy and radiance, Green shows natural and ethical aspect. Pink stands for femineity, love and tranquillity. Use it to your benefit. You should choose colour that suits the purpose of your business. Use colour to deliver your message. Fonts can be manipulated to express your tone of purpose. If your business has serious stuff, you can use New Roman Font. Comic Sans will add more playful picture to your logo.
There are many online websites and free software for Logo Designing. Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop and Corral Draw are personally my favourite. This software deploys attractive fonts and lay outs for perfect designing.
